What’s your favorite genre to write? Prose.

What’s your idea of perfect happiness? Waking up and smiling before your eyes open all the way.

What trait do you most value in yourself? Being able to remain grounded.

What trait do you most value in other writers? Having a genuine voice.

What do you do when you’re not putting words on the page? Spending copious amounts of time with friends, at concerts, at libraries, driving in cars, and listening to music.

Which author(s) do you most admire? Sloane Crosley, Luc Besson, Douglas Adams, Daniel Handler, Cornelia Funke. 

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Ugh.

Favorite word? Worm.

Least favorite word? Shag.

When did you first identify yourself as a writer? When I won the Young Authors Award and realized writing could be more than just a hobby, but something I’m passionate about.

Why are you actively involved in Lighthouse Writers Workshop? Because having a community of writers separate from the rest of my life is incredibly important to my personal growth as a writer and a person.
