A Collection of 3 Short Poems

[MATURE]

by Lucy Gallagher

Brahms Symphony 4
We fumbled
Through the grass,
Clumsy feet knocking together synonymously. I said goodbye
On your doorstep
For the last time that evening.

Birth of a Monster
Yellow eyes
of the sky
reflected in murky
green lake water
that sloshed
on the black beach rhythmically,
the way the hands
of a clock moves
places and
gently it
kissed jagged
rocks.

everyone hates sarah
the walls bored me.
she bored me.
her eyes were spider leg shadows,
her cheeks hollow with missed dinner.
when i looked at her i saw
a reflection of everything that is
beautifully broken in this world.
i loved her like i loved porcelain.
